"The more I want to get something done, the less I call it work"- Richard Bach
The holiday's are around the corner and before they arrive I just wanted to do one more Mindfulness Monday just to bring the spirits up during the break. Well I hope you will be able to relax and have great time during break, but before then, it's time to get into this Monday's quote. So to start off, the first I observed from this Monday's quote is that it seems to be a bit motivational, but it seems to be a quote that helps you find your interests in life. To clarify, depending on who are, it can either be motivational or an eye-opener or even both depending on the way people will interpret this quote. Before I move on, I just want to state that the interpretation that I'm going to give will be my own and as a reminder, everyone sees or interprets things differently so don't be alarmed if my interpretation is totally different form yours. So the way I interpret this quote is that what it basically says, but let me explain it in deeper depth. So interpret this quote as whatever you do may seem like so much at first, but the more you do it, you begin to love it and you don't see as work anymore. You now begin to see it as way to challenge yourself, to see your limits in order to try to break them or you can see it as way to relieve your mind from everything and get your body relaxed. Also, I would like to include that people are willing to things and the first part portrays that when saying "the more I want to get something done..." and the second part, "... the less I call it work" conveys that when you do something you enjoy or are willing to do will seem less like work due to the fact that you don't see it that way anymore. So to sum up my interpretation, the way I interpret this quote is that whatever you do and get it done, it begins to seem less like work because no one obligates you to do it, you obligate yourself for whatever reasons. Well now that I have given my interpretation, it's time to connect the quote with the IB profile. So looking back at the profile, the components that I felt were associated with this quote were reflective and knowledgeable. The reason why I say reflective is because when you do something that you begin to see differently in which you no longer see something as work, but as something that makes you feel relaxed, you will begin to reflect upon why everyone else sees as work, but you don't. Eventually, this would lead to being knowledgeable in that once you have reflected, you learn that whatever you see people see as work, doesn't apply to you. Not only that, by learning what interests you, you get to learn upon yourself, what you actually like, and what things you see as work that at times can become something that no longer be the way. Well that is it for today's quote and I'm sorry if this part did not make much sense, but this one was really different in the sense that it wasn't as motivational as the others I have done in the past, but rather it's one that helps you understand more about yourself. Either way hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you in the Mindfulness Monday.
