"Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one second time"- George Bernard Shaw
Today's quote is very interesting and I think it might be in my top 5 favorite quotes because of what it means. To simply put it, this quote in my perspective means that success consists of mistakes because it is never easy to succeed, but it gets even more difficult when the same mistakes are made and maybe success can never be achieved. To me, this really gets me thinking of my past mistakes that I have committed and sometimes I remember that there are some mistakes that I still have trouble learning from. It is always good to learn from past mistakes because of course, you learn to not to do them again, but there are some that just linger with you until it has finally been realized. I have seen this struggle in tv shows and in real life, but I have especially seen them in myself many times and now that I think about it this quote is finally shedding some light of this mistake. I guess you can say thanks to this quote because typing this reflection is finally making me realize that it is time to learn the mistake because it is getting in the way of success and that is one thing I can't allow. Like every quote now I connect them with the IB learner profile because for some reason it makes me feel that I'm actually learning something and that makes me feel great. I know that this quote is associated with being knowledgeable, principled, balanced, and caring. People can become more knowledgeable because they know what to do to prevent the same mistake from happening and maybe learn to prevent others, but that is hard to do because mistakes can happen at any moment. This can then associate with being balanced because the person, for example, has done many mistakes, but he has learned from them and does everything to keep on the right path and makes the person more aware about mistakes and what to do when they occur. Also, this can be associated with being principled because mistakes and especially the same ones that keep occurring teaches the person the morality of those mistakes and what effects it has on people which then connects with caring because if that same mistake effects the people the person cares about then they will do anything to stop it from reoccurring in order to not affect the people in their life. As a result, everyone including yourself will be grateful that the mistakes will not be repeatedly done over and the path of success is finally easier to follow. Learning Outcomes:
