"The starting point of all achievement is desire"-Napoleon Hill
Today's quote I have to say is very interesting because the message is interesting as well, but to me it holds great power and I'm trying to understand why I feel this way. How I see it the quote' s message is that achievement only happens if we have the desire to to do what we want to achieve. I think it is trying to say this because in reality if you don't have the desire to achieve what you want then achievement is meaningless. To clarify a bit let provide you with an example. Let's say a girl's or boy's parents wants them to follow the path that they took let's just say they both are lawyers, but they don't desire that path because they are interested in something else like maybe being an artist or an athlete. To continue on, let's say that they follow the path of their parents, the only thing that is going to haunt them or maybe stay with them is that their "false achievement" is meaningless to them. To finally put it together, or to end my example, the truth is that when we want to achieve something it should have meaning at the end of the road. Now it's time to connect this quote just like all the others I have analyzed, with the IB learner profile. Well now that we have analyzed it, I think this quote can associate itself with knowledgeable and risk-taker. I want to start off with risk-taker because I have a feeling that this part of the learner profile is strange to be associated with the quote, but let me explain my reasoning. I say it's risk-taker because with what we desire sometimes comes at a risk, like the example I gave in the previous paragraph. To add an alternative, let's say that they do follow their own path meaning they are training to be an athlete or artist, well the risk has begun. At first you may think that there is no risk, but remember fellow grasshoppers that in away they are risking the respect of their parents. We know that sometimes we against our parents obligations, we tend to loose their respect and sometimes their trust. But there is a way to get out of this situation and that is too show them that what you desire is what makes you happy because at times is very good to remind your parents that we are all different and we have our own path to follow and that it is wrong to be like someone else because we so.etimes tend to loose who we actually are . Wow I spoke a lot for this part, but I think it is time to move on to being knowledgeable. I said this quote is associated with knowledgeable because we become more intelligent or more knowing in what we want to pursue and also in how to convince people, mainly parent, that becoming somewhat like someone else is not right because every individual should be themselves because when they are themselves they are truly happy. Well that is the full break down of this quote and this one truly made me think like a philosopher and I really liked it. Well until next week. Learning Outcomes:
