"Champions keep playing until they get it right"-Billie Jean King
At first glance of this quote I thought of the saying that my principal always says and that is "be champions on the field, but also champions in the classroom "-Dr.Gomez. When you hear this saying of his it may seem that it has nothing in common in the meaning, but that it only has the same word in both the quote and my principal's saying and that is "Champions". But while thinking it over and over, I finally found something that both the saying and quote have in common and that is that being champion is great and all but a true champion is always working hard. In my principal's saying, it sounds like he is trying to encourage us to jeep working hard at what we are doing and that is to learn all that we can and get into a great college or university. This is what the quote is trying to convey, that people become true champions when they keep working hard even if they are pretty good in whatever they are good in. This in my eyes is the true definition of a champion because a "fake champion" is someone who only wants to be good just because they are trying to impress people or they want fame and that to me is a not right . To me, a true champion is someone who works hard to become good at something because that is what they desire and they always push themselves to the limit trying to accomplish it. Now that to me is a true champion and I have seen many great champions in my life and I have to say that Dr. Thomas is a true champion because she worked hard to get to the point she is at now and not only she provides us with wise words that makes a student to never back down and that to me is the greatest thing in a person. To that I want to say thanks to her because she has taught me many things and in a way her teachings have constricted my personality in a great way and that I all have to say thanks one more time and to make a promise to her. That promise I will reveal in another CAS Experience and I will tell you all what it is in due time. As usual, I will connect this quote with the IB learner profile and this one is going to be fun to associate it with. As I went back to the profile I saw that this quote associates well with balanced, knowledgeable, and being an inquirer. Let's start with balanced because I want to explain why this quote is associated with this part. A champion just doesn't focus on what they work for, they fully understand that there are may obstacles in becoming a champion. To provide more insight, let's say an athlete working hard for maybe being in the Olympics and he is on the right path, but he has a lot to do like homework and maybe some community service. At first, you may think that he won't make it because he if he focuses on one thing he will fail on the others, but that ain't true. A true champion knows how to deal with situations like these and becomes organized in which he gives everything he does an equal amount of attention and that is truly amazing. Well to move on, this quote associates pretty well with becoming knowledgeable. This may seem weird, but champions always have some piece knowledge that is great to share. Whatever they become champions in they become somewhat knowledgeable in that field in which they find out the rights and wrongs of becoming a champion. Oh I almost forgot, that I added a new learning outcome which is ethics of choices and actions because along the path of becoming a champion in my perspective they come across obstacles in which they must choose the right from the wrong. But either way let's finally move on to the last part . Champions may become inquires because at times they need help from others to keep on going. Usually they get this help from love ones, friends, and if they lucky they can get it from their idol and this help really constructs a champion. Well this was a good quote to analyze and it's finally time to end it. Well to until the next one. Learning Outcomes:
