"When you are feeling the flow, you have the power to do almost anything. With the support of friends and family, the flow can get even stronger."-Robert Solorio
Today I wanted to do something different and since I have seen many other quotes, I felt it was time for me to create my own. At first glance, this quote may seem a little hard to understand, but it is ok because I will explain what it means right at this second. So what my quote is trying to say is that when you feel good about yourself and what is going around then you have the power to whatever you want and I mean by whatever you want I mean that you can follow the path that you want to take and to accomplish what you think will make you happy. The second part supports the first because, in my own experiences, I usually feel the flow when I am with my friends because I know deep down that I will always learn something from them, learning something very important or something ridiculous. To add more to the experience, I want to add an example. Since I have revealed that I love anime and that I have love specific ones like Naruto, One Piece, and Yugioh. But the reason why I bring them up is that they only feel the flow when they have their friends with them because to the main characters in each of these anime, their friends are the most important thing in the world to them and not only that, they also get their strength from the bonds that they make with them. This to me inspired me to make my own quote and I have to admit that my quote kind of derives from another one, but I changed it in a different way or in my own my version. Honestly, I will stay true this quote because having to me is the greatest thing you can acquire in life. Just like the other quotes I will connect mine to the IB Learner profile and it seems to associate with three and they are knowledgeable, caring, and being reflective. Come to think of it this quote of mine seems to associate with almost all the parts of the learner profile, but I chose this three spefically because they seem to emphasize the meaning of it. So to start off, this quote is connected with being knowledgeable because like I said before having friends and relatives close, you will most likely learn something very important. Also having these people close to us is what builds our character and our personality. I'll admit if it weren't for my friends I wouldn't be who I am today and now I want to give them my thanks for being there for me and for being my friends. This revealing of my feelings will connect to the other part of the learner profile which is caring. It seems pretty clear that we always want the people we love to stay safe and sometimes we worry when something out of the usual happens, but that is ok because that means you actually care for someone and that you want them to keep them close. Finally the last part will be being able to reflect what you have done. What I mean by this is that when you and friends do something, sometimes you will reflect upon that and will try to learn from it. To clarify, let us say that you and your friends did something one way and when you are done doing it that specific way, you will all try to see if there was doing the same thing, but in a different method. This would also apply to morality because we are always trying to reflect on how we act because we never want to make someone upset. Well, there is my analysis of my own quote and I hope you will like it. Until the next time. Learning Outcomes:

"Champions keep playing until they get it right"-Billie Jean King
At first glance of this quote I thought of the saying that my principal always says and that is "be champions on the field, but also champions in the classroom "-Dr.Gomez. When you hear this saying of his it may seem that it has nothing in common in the meaning, but that it only has the same word in both the quote and my principal's saying and that is "Champions". But while thinking it over and over, I finally found something that both the saying and quote have in common and that is that being champion is great and all but a true champion is always working hard. In my principal's saying, it sounds like he is trying to encourage us to jeep working hard at what we are doing and that is to learn all that we can and get into a great college or university. This is what the quote is trying to convey, that people become true champions when they keep working hard even if they are pretty good in whatever they are good in. This in my eyes is the true definition of a champion because a "fake champion" is someone who only wants to be good just because they are trying to impress people or they want fame and that to me is a not right . To me, a true champion is someone who works hard to become good at something because that is what they desire and they always push themselves to the limit trying to accomplish it. Now that to me is a true champion and I have seen many great champions in my life and I have to say that Dr. Thomas is a true champion because she worked hard to get to the point she is at now and not only she provides us with wise words that makes a student to never back down and that to me is the greatest thing in a person. To that I want to say thanks to her because she has taught me many things and in a way her teachings have constricted my personality in a great way and that I all have to say thanks one more time and to make a promise to her. That promise I will reveal in another CAS Experience and I will tell you all what it is in due time. As usual, I will connect this quote with the IB learner profile and this one is going to be fun to associate it with. As I went back to the profile I saw that this quote associates well with balanced, knowledgeable, and being an inquirer. Let's start with balanced because I want to explain why this quote is associated with this part. A champion just doesn't focus on what they work for, they fully understand that there are may obstacles in becoming a champion. To provide more insight, let's say an athlete working hard for maybe being in the Olympics and he is on the right path, but he has a lot to do like homework and maybe some community service. At first, you may think that he won't make it because he if he focuses on one thing he will fail on the others, but that ain't true. A true champion knows how to deal with situations like these and becomes organized in which he gives everything he does an equal amount of attention and that is truly amazing. Well to move on, this quote associates pretty well with becoming knowledgeable. This may seem weird, but champions always have some piece knowledge that is great to share. Whatever they become champions in they become somewhat knowledgeable in that field in which they find out the rights and wrongs of becoming a champion. Oh I almost forgot, that I added a new learning outcome which is ethics of choices and actions because along the path of becoming a champion in my perspective they come across obstacles in which they must choose the right from the wrong. But either way let's finally move on to the last part . Champions may become inquires because at times they need help from others to keep on going. Usually they get this help from love ones, friends, and if they lucky they can get it from their idol and this help really constructs a champion. Well this was a good quote to analyze and it's finally time to end it. Well to until the next one. Learning Outcomes:
"The starting point of all achievement is desire"-Napoleon Hill
Today's quote I have to say is very interesting because the message is interesting as well, but to me it holds great power and I'm trying to understand why I feel this way. How I see it the quote' s message is that achievement only happens if we have the desire to to do what we want to achieve. I think it is trying to say this because in reality if you don't have the desire to achieve what you want then achievement is meaningless. To clarify a bit let provide you with an example. Let's say a girl's or boy's parents wants them to follow the path that they took let's just say they both are lawyers, but they don't desire that path because they are interested in something else like maybe being an artist or an athlete. To continue on, let's say that they follow the path of their parents, the only thing that is going to haunt them or maybe stay with them is that their "false achievement" is meaningless to them. To finally put it together, or to end my example, the truth is that when we want to achieve something it should have meaning at the end of the road. Now it's time to connect this quote just like all the others I have analyzed, with the IB learner profile. Well now that we have analyzed it, I think this quote can associate itself with knowledgeable and risk-taker. I want to start off with risk-taker because I have a feeling that this part of the learner profile is strange to be associated with the quote, but let me explain my reasoning. I say it's risk-taker because with what we desire sometimes comes at a risk, like the example I gave in the previous paragraph. To add an alternative, let's say that they do follow their own path meaning they are training to be an athlete or artist, well the risk has begun. At first you may think that there is no risk, but remember fellow grasshoppers that in away they are risking the respect of their parents. We know that sometimes we against our parents obligations, we tend to loose their respect and sometimes their trust. But there is a way to get out of this situation and that is too show them that what you desire is what makes you happy because at times is very good to remind your parents that we are all different and we have our own path to follow and that it is wrong to be like someone else because we so.etimes tend to loose who we actually are . Wow I spoke a lot for this part, but I think it is time to move on to being knowledgeable. I said this quote is associated with knowledgeable because we become more intelligent or more knowing in what we want to pursue and also in how to convince people, mainly parent, that becoming somewhat like someone else is not right because every individual should be themselves because when they are themselves they are truly happy. Well that is the full break down of this quote and this one truly made me think like a philosopher and I really liked it. Well until next week. Learning Outcomes:
-"There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way" -Thich Nhat Hanh
Well, this seems to be a very different quote than the usual ones I get, but this one seems to have a different feeling to it. By what I mean "different feeling" I mean that this quote seems to have a good and positive feeling once you read it. Also, it is true that happiness is the way or in my perspective the path that will take me towards in the right direction. On the other hand, this quote's message may not be true to others and that's ok, but I have to say that whatever is at the end of the road or path for us it will bring happiness to us which basically kind of relates to this quote. I would definitely share this with people because sometimes I feel like they need to be reminded why we are going to school and learn. Typing this reminded me why I'm going to school and that is to learn about the world and learn from it so I can try to solve the problems of the world or give people their strength and joy back. As usual, I always relate the quotes to the IB learner profile because each quote relates to one part of the profile. For this quote, it seems that is connected with caring, knowledgeable, and balanced. It may seem weird that this quote could be connected to caring, but in a way when we strive on the path of happiness we become somewhat more caring to ourselves and not only that we also become caring for others because at times we want our families and friends to be on the of happiness because it can signify that you are living life to its fullest. This part of the IB learner profile I enjoy the most because I care more about others than of my own self and the reason behind that is that I like making people because it makes me happy. Well of enough of me spilling the beans, let us move on in which we are now connecting the quote to knowledgeable. So the reason why I put knowledgeable is that when you are feeling the flow like I always say you get in the mood in wanting to learn more and not only that you become more intelligent because you are happy but that is my perspective. Lastly, you become balanced meaning you have control over things in your life and with happiness things will be better. Well, that is it for my analysis of this quote and I have to admit seeing this quote made me happy. Learning Outcomes:
"All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them"- Walt Disney
This quote, I have to say, is a pretty good one since it applies to me and also my friends in the IB program. The reason why I say this is because we all have dreams and we usually have struggled in pursuing them, but we never give up. How I see it in my whole class we all have dreams or goals that we all want to pursue and everyone's is different (these dreams/goals involve us going to the college or university we want to go to). In order to do so we must develop the courage in making our dreams come true and when we all have a dream to follow, we have our eyesight on it until it has been accomplished. Now typing this, I have realized that thanks to the IB program we have all grown in some way and not only that, I just realized that we have grown pretty close to each that we look like a big family that will each other in achieving or making their dreams or goals come true. Honestly, I would like to give my thanks to this program in meeting these people who I now call them my friends which who now encourage me to stay on the path in building the courage in pursuing my dreams. I can say that we have all fallen into a pit or as I call it "an abyss of despair" where there has been some event that discourages us from accomplishing our dreams. I have seen this in all my friends including myself because we usually see the road ahead of us as something impossible and at times we just give up hope and as result, this can become the biggest downside of this nice quote. But I will never give up on this quote because Walt Disney had a dream of his own which make iconic characters that would later be the most famous characters that entertain kids and bring them joy which was his dream and he had the courage to do this. As usual, every quote that I have analyzed has always had a connection with the IB learner profile. To me, this quote has some connection with being open-minded, principled, and being knowledgeable. Well to start off this quote does make people become more open-minded to other people's suggestions or sometimes even their own dreams. To simply put it, when we don't have a dream to pursue, our friends or relatives tell us what theirs are and sometimes just by hearing, people can get an idea of a dream that could be followed. This I can relate to since I have come up many dreams, but I want to follow the most important to me which I took from my friends which is going to to the college or university that I want to go to, but soon after I will pursue the other dream which I will reveal later once I get an inspirational quote that seems to fit it . Well, enough of that let's move on to the other learner profile which is principled. Being principled to me has become something that made me see things differently meaning that I have my own morals which I will always believe in even if people won't agree with me which is fine because we all have different morals. To finally top it off, pursuing our dreams can make us more knowledgeable. This to me is a good point to reveal because we must be more knowledgeable in order to accomplish our dreams because as we all know what we want to accomplish won't be easy and there will be a lot of obstacles along the way. To give in my last perspective of this quote, courage is what gives us the strength to keep fighting, but it can't prevail without having hope along with it. Until the next quote. Learning Outcomes:
"There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way"- Christopher Morley
I have to say that today's random inspirational quote is one that I really feel like it is really true. What this trying to say that being yourself and living life your own way and not trying to be or live like someone else is the greatest success of all (personally I believe that making your dream come true is the greatest success, but this quote could be a close second). Either way, I would strongly like to tell my friends this because I have noticed that some people try to live their lives like the people of today, but today's way of living in my perspective is not one you would want to live like. The reason why I say this is because of the fact that today's modern time is really wild and there are many bad influences out there. It sometimes pains me to see people trying to conform with others even though they don't want to because they feel like outcasts and the things they do seems strange to those will people and makes the poor person feel worse about themselves. Fortunately, there are still good in this world and there are still people that like to live their lives like how they want to, but not in the ridiculous way that today's people live life. Also, these remaining people which in some ways I could be considered as one make people feel good once more. This quote kind of gives me a wake-up call that I should help people to keep living the way they want to and do not conform to others in order to feel accepted in society. I have done some good things in my life like helping people out when they need it and act and be the way that I am because to my friends they enjoy it and they get inspired into being their own character just like I developed mine and I thank them, my family, anime, and some old history books. As you can probably tell this quote has made me ramble on about how I am in person and I don't mind at all because I want people to read this and feel like they can break their chains and finally break free to live life how they want to live it. This really associates very well with being principled because being who really are in person helps build morals within you and helps shape your well-being. Also, it can associate with reflection and knowledgeable because when you begin living life your own way you can reflect upon the things you do and see if you can do some improvement and you can be knowledgeable because just being yourself makes you smarter and gain knowledge in your own way. "Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared"-Buddha
This quote is one that I really liked because it made me think about it really hard and made me try to figure the perfect interpretation of it and also I like it because it's a monk saying and I like things like that. Ever since I have watched shows that have wise monks or in my perspective wise fighters of evil who seem like the Buddha and I loved to hear the sayings the monk would say villainous that sometimes changed their ways. Like the saying of the great Buddha, he changes someone's heart with his strong character which can then change the hearts of many which will then eventually bring him happiness. This to me means that one person can keep a legacy that everyone integrates into their lives which will keep the person of the legacy alive even after death and the happiness does not die down when shared, but rather it increases when it is shared. Honestly, to me this quote kind of inspires me to leave my own legacy one day or to begin one now and get people to maybe integrate it into their daily life. In a way, the legacy that I want to leave is basically just to get the message that the past never truly disappears and that we should cherish it no matter what through people because people are beginning to lose sight of it. Now I really appreciate this quote because now I really want to work hard into making my legacy a reality. This quote like any other quote that I have talked about is associated with the IB profile. The main part of the profile that I think that really associates with the quote is in a sense caring and principled because when things that people ignite a fire to people that follow their beliefs and at times the person who ignited the fire tends to care of the people and what they will do with their new beliefs. Being principled also associates with the quote because like my example of the ignited fire of a person can help make him/herself principled, but also help others find their own morality and sometimes doing this can help construct a good path for many people. "Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune, but great minds rise above it"- Washington Irving
This is the 7th week of continuing mindfulness Mondays and I will have to say that I like doing it. Probably the reason why I enjoy this is because there are a lot of quotes that are very inspirational to me and at times I share them with my family especially my sister who also enjoys reading quotes. But enough of that it is time to get back to the quote of this new week. I have to say that this quote has great power within itself. The reason why I say that because I have seen this happen. I usually see in my friends that at times they have little minds because they have a lot on their plate and they simply give up hope. Then sometimes they break out of this state or have great minds that are strong enough to get past their struggles. This state of mind relates to a growth mindset where people get down in the dumps because nothing is going their way, but they still manage to pull through and eventually become happy and relieved in doing so. Honestly now I think about it, I have also seen this within myself and I realize that somethings get me down like getting a bad grade on a test or when I have too much stuff to do one day, but I never gave up and I rose to the challenge of taking these things down. This quote has now blown my mind and hopefully not only blow people's minds but also inspire them to never give up as I did. These quotes that I have done all associated with the IB Learner profile. Quotes make us principled, balanced, open-minded, knowledgeable, and caring. Depending on the meanings that people find out these quotes will determine what characteristics the quote will fall under. For these reasons, I encourage people to look up inspirational quotes in order for them to feel great about themselves and not only that they will learn something new every time they are given or search up an inspirational quote. Learning Outcomes:
"Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one second time"- George Bernard Shaw
Today's quote is very interesting and I think it might be in my top 5 favorite quotes because of what it means. To simply put it, this quote in my perspective means that success consists of mistakes because it is never easy to succeed, but it gets even more difficult when the same mistakes are made and maybe success can never be achieved. To me, this really gets me thinking of my past mistakes that I have committed and sometimes I remember that there are some mistakes that I still have trouble learning from. It is always good to learn from past mistakes because of course, you learn to not to do them again, but there are some that just linger with you until it has finally been realized. I have seen this struggle in tv shows and in real life, but I have especially seen them in myself many times and now that I think about it this quote is finally shedding some light of this mistake. I guess you can say thanks to this quote because typing this reflection is finally making me realize that it is time to learn the mistake because it is getting in the way of success and that is one thing I can't allow. Like every quote now I connect them with the IB learner profile because for some reason it makes me feel that I'm actually learning something and that makes me feel great. I know that this quote is associated with being knowledgeable, principled, balanced, and caring. People can become more knowledgeable because they know what to do to prevent the same mistake from happening and maybe learn to prevent others, but that is hard to do because mistakes can happen at any moment. This can then associate with being balanced because the person, for example, has done many mistakes, but he has learned from them and does everything to keep on the right path and makes the person more aware about mistakes and what to do when they occur. Also, this can be associated with being principled because mistakes and especially the same ones that keep occurring teaches the person the morality of those mistakes and what effects it has on people which then connects with caring because if that same mistake effects the people the person cares about then they will do anything to stop it from reoccurring in order to not affect the people in their life. As a result, everyone including yourself will be grateful that the mistakes will not be repeatedly done over and the path of success is finally easier to follow. Learning Outcomes:
"Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out"-John Wooden
This was the quote that google gave me today and I must say that Google gives good inspirational quotes that make you think very deeply and I love it. Well, enough of me being mesmerized by Google it's time to dissect another quote. So when I first read this, I had a little trouble understanding what it was trying to say. In my perspective, it means that the outcomes are good if the person knows how to work it out and I feel like I got it, but only partly. Honestly this in a way clears my mind because it makes me realizes that if I want good things to happen then I must use them for good and not bad. This makes me realize why bad things happen to me in the past and it was because I received something good, but I abused it to the point where the goodness in them had faded and was beginning to become corrupted and were now going against me. Now with this realization, I will be cautious about what I receive and if it's something good then I will treat it good so it won't go against me. In a way, this can lead to the IB profile where it will go under principled, balanced, and reflective. It will go under principled because people will begin to understand what they have done in the past which probably lead to bad experiences and learn from them. This can also connect with reflective because people are being reflective of their past experiences and try to see what they could differently if they come face-to-face to the same situation. When they have finally understood and learned from their mistakes then they will become well-balanced and their aura or soul can be at ease. This truly makes me feel cleanse and free and I hope others will feel the same way if they read this quote. |
